Top Ten Books I’d Buy in a Second with a Fully Loaded Gift Card

toptentuesdayHello! Today is Top Ten Tuesday, one of my favorite bookish memes in the blog world. This feature is brought to us by the wonderful people over at The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is the Ten Books I’d Buy Right This Second if I had  A Fully Loaded Gift Card. And oh goodness, there would be wayyy more than 10. But in keeping with the theme…

Here are a couple books that haven’t been released yet. But with a fully-loaded gift card, maybe I could get them a little early? Let’s go with it.

  1. Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas

I feel like I have been waiting around for Empire of Storms forever, but really it’s only been since I finished Queen of Shadows last fall. Is anyone re-reading this series (or part of it before this book comes out?

2. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

Since I read Six of Crows earlier this year I’ve been dying for this book to come out. It’s another Fall release that I already have on pre-order.

3. A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir

An Ember in the Ashes left me wanting more and so impatient to find out what happens next. Continue reading

Monday Motivation: August Goals

Goals

Last month was a very productive month for me writing wise!

I set a goal of 15k words for Camp NaNoWriMo and began writing draft 2 of The Source CNW_Winner_555-1Chronicles. Without that goal I would have never gotten as far as I did.

If you don’t know this about me by now, I am big into making goals for myself and creating to-do lists. It’s how I got through college and even afterward, it helps me to organize my thoughts so that I can get stuff done.

One of my favorite Author-Youtubers, Jenna Moreci made a video not long ago about Quarterly Writing Goals. It made me realize that having those longer-term goals to complete in a 3 month period might help me visualize how much I can accomplish in that length of time. Since we’re a month into the 3rd Quarter of 2016 (yikes), I’m not going to make any quarterly goals. But I am going to make a list of 5-7 goals I would like to work towards in August.

Goals for August:

  1. Revise and send 2-3 chapters of The Source Chronicles a week to my  critique partners. (Another 15-20 k added to current word count of 15k).
  2. Query 10 literary agents with The Girl in the Glass Coffin (2-3 a week)
  3. Blog at least 3 times a week— this one will likely be one of the most difficult for me, as I’ve gotten out of the habit of blogging.
  4. Read 4 books
  5. Exercise 3 times a week
  6. Journal more

So there ya have it! Things for me to accomplish within the next month. And I think I can do them all too!

What are your reading and/or writing goals for August? Let me know down in the comments.
