Top Ten Books I Would Love To See As A Movie/TV Show

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme: Top Ten Books I Would Love To See As A Movie/TV Show. I have read a million books that I think would make wonderful movies/ tv shows. Some of my choices might be a little unconventional, but I have my reasons πŸ™‚

Here is my list of books that if I had my way, would be fantastically, wonderful, fabulous movies.

In no particular order

Β The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

TheGraveyardBook_HardcoverNot only do I love this book (and everything Gaiman has written), I would love to see it in aΒ  Tim Burton-esque style. I think it would even be a great animated movie and still be just as beautiful & effective. This is a great story of how you make your own family out of those around you.

I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak

messengerI think that this novel would actually make an exciting TV series. The way it is structured could allow a season (or series) for each suit and there is enough mystery, suspense, & drama to keep a story going and viewers interested.

The Diviners by Libba Bray

7728889Libba Bray can do no wrong in my opinion, but this would make a wonderful mystery/horror/mind-bending movie or television show. Someone please make this happen.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

miss p book cover with borderWhimsical, horrifying, amazing. This book would make an incredible movie.

Will Grayson, Will Grayson- by John Green & David Leviathan

WillGraysonNot only did I love the double-narrative of this novel, but I think that it’s message would ring true with so many movie-goers.

The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson

adorationThis science fiction novel brings so many ethical issues and questions to light. Once again, will someone please make a television series based on this novel? I will love you forever if you do.

Ascendant by Rebecca Taylor

Ascendant Cover ResizedThere was so many awesome things in this book: a kick-butt heroine, secret societies, and a whole lot of mystery. I would love to see a television series based of this novel. If you haven’t read this book, you should. Read my review here

I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga

ihuntkillersThere is so much awesome in this book, I can’t even begin to explain it. The son of a serial killer helping the police catch a copycat killer. There is so much potential and even more yes here.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman

oceanlaneThe Ocean at the End of the Lane was beautifully horrifying. It was fantastical and unbelieveable but still wormed it’s way inside my head and stayed there. This would make such a visually stunning film.

Going Bovine by Libba Bray

goingbovineOnce again, Libba Bray has made the list. Going Bovine has such a great message and is so funny and original that it would make such a fun, quirky movie.

Will it make you feel better if I say that, though I’ve heard of the books on your list, I’ve not actually read any of them!? I think every single one of them are on my ridiculously long TBR though. πŸ™‚

Lovely list! Completely agree with you about how The Graveyard book would make a lovely animation. In fact, I think that’s how I imagined the story in my head while I was reading!
