This poor blog has been so neglected lately. Since Camp NaNoWriMo, I’ve thought about this blog every single day, without knowing what really to write about, but it’s past time for an update 🙂 .
My goal in the month of April was to write 10,000 words. Unfortunately, I didn’t reach this goal. But I did write almost 8k words, which made me very happy even if i didn’t hit the amount I wanted to.
I will be doing this again in July, with my writer’s group. Many of them haven’t finished a novel/novella/short story and I figured that Camp NaNoWriMo would be a great opportunity to get them writing and their creative juices flowing. We will have weekly meetings where we chat about a related topic (plot, getting past the slumpy middle, etc) and the do some word sprints. I’m getting really excited to do this again.
And the big news……
I finished Draft 3 of The Girl in the Glass Coffin!
It has a real, solid ending! One that I am happy with and proud of. It finishes the story, yet leaves some things open for a sequel. I knew that I would like TGGC to be a duology when I started draft 3, after the 2nd draft didn’t work out as planned.
So my plans now are to go through one last time with a fine-toothed comb with the feedback from my Critique Partners (always looking for other people to help me out too if you’re interested) and firm up any plot holes and other issues.
The biggest reason I’ve been absent is that I’ve been trying to save all of my writing for TGGC. And now that I’m done I have huge plans for this little blog (which I’m really stoked for!).
Other reasons for my absence are more personal and I may go into them in more detail in another post, but don’t fear, Amanda’s Nose in a Book is back!
I’ve also started a new blog for my other creative endeavors, Happy Creative Inspiration, which I hope to launch in June!
This will be where i post about crochet, crafty, gardening and more! If you’re interested, you can follow it now, just know that it’s in it’s very beginning stages of development. I still have a lot of work to do to get things where I’d like them to be.
