Hey everyone! It’s Wednesday again and I have a lot to share with you, especially because I completely forgot about this feature last week (yeahhh sometimes I forget what day of the week it is). Anyway What I’m Reading and Writing Wednesday is my own spin on WWW Wednesday, hosted by Taking on a World of Words and This Week in Books hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found.
What I’m reading this week…
I just finished reading…
- A Darkness Strange and Lovely by Susan Dennard. I loved this book and thought that it was a really fun sequel to Something Strange and Deadly and can’t wait to pick up the 3rd book.
- I finally finished A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab and it’s definitely one of the best books I’ve read so far this year! Not sure why it took me so long to finish (although it got buried in my craft room for a couple of weeks).
- Under the Lights by Dahlia Adler. I really enjoyed this book, even though it took me a little time to get into. I’m not a huge reader of contemporary, but I am glad that I pushed through it. Diversity in YA and NA is incredibly important and Dahlia Adler definitely showed that message as it relates to diversity in other forms of entertainment.
I’m finally reading A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I’ve only been saying that I was going to read this one next for the last 2 months, so it’s about time!
What I’m Reading Next…
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs (which is a re-read) and then it’s sequel Hollow City! I read Miss Peregrine what feels like forever ago, so I don’t remember much. And I want to read Hollow City before the 3rd book in the series comes out. Plus, it’s going to be made into a film directed by Tim Burton! How cool is that?
What I’m Writing…
Camp NaNoWriMo is in full swing and I’m currently at 5k words (as of last night), which is half-way to my goal of 10k words during the month of July. Last week, I did a hard-core revision of Chapter 5 of The Girl in the Glass Coffin and this week I’ve finished Chapter 6 and am starting 7.
While I’m not usually as productive during Camp NaNoWriMo as I’d like to be, I’m really happy with how much I’ve done so far. I’m pushing myself (which is sometimes a bad thing) but it’s helping my creativity a lot!
I’ll have another Camp NaNoWriMo update later this week!
