What I'm Reading & Writing Wednesday

Yay it’s Wednesday! Time to chat about what I’m reading and writing this week! What I’m Reading and Writing Wednesday is my weekly feature, based on WWW Wednesday hosted by Taking On A World of Words. Another great Wednesday reading meme is This Week in Books over at Lipsyy Lost and Found!

What I’m Reading…

I just finished…

Miss-PeregrinesMiss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs (finally). I liked this book a lot, but it took forever for me to finish. I’m going to chalk that up to the fact that it was a re-read for me. I usually don’t trudge through re-reads though.

I’m currently reading…

Hollow City by Ransom Riggs, the sequel to Miss Peregrine. This is going along much quicker, however, I have very little time to read this week. But I have to read this book before Library of Souls comes out.

What I’m Reading Next…

Crown of Midnight and Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas. Just waiting for them to come in the mail. They are taking far too long to get to me.

What I’m Writing….

Last week I was pretty bummed about writing. Chapter 11 was giving me a hell of a time, but by the end of the week I’d re-written and re-worked the whole thing and the chapter is all the better for it.

I just sent Chapter 12 to my critique partners and am starting work on Chapter 13 this week. I’m hoping to get through Chapter 14 done before next Wednesday.

The book has it’s creepy moments, but overall it’s not scary. There are old pictures throughout the text though, which is really cool. Riggs incorporated the images into the book really well.

Good luck with the writing! I need to get back to mine soon. I hope you enjoy Hollow City! We’re getting close to Library of Souls! Happy reading.

I just read Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children as well! Hollow City is on my TBR; hopefully I will be able to read it soon. I loved both Crown Of Midnight and Heir Of Fire; I actually liked the sequels better than the first book!

    Happy Wednesday! Here’s my WWW.

Oooh glad to hear that Crown of Midnight and Heir of Fire were better than the first book (because I loved that one and am excited to get more of the story)!

Miss Peregrine was great and Hollow City is really good so far too. The writing style along with the photos is really unique. I love old photos too, so it’s been a lot of fun for me 🙂

I hope you end up enjoying the sequels as much as I did! I really like the fact that Ransom Riggs writes the story around the old photos; like you said, it’s very unique!

Good luck with the writing! Sometimes you really need to wrestle a chapter until it comes round.

I’ve just started Throne of Glass and I’ve got to say, I do love the covers for this series.

    • Amanda Marie says:

Thanks! Some of these chapters need some serious wrestling, that’s for sure. But hopefully my book will be all the better for it.

The Throne of Glass covers are so pretty!!! I love them!
