What I'm Reading & Writing Wednesday

Hello friends! It’s Wednesday and time for me to catch you all up with what I’m reading and writing this week. What I’m Reading and Writing Wednesday is my own personal spin on WWW Wednesday hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. Another great Wednesday feature is My Week in Books over at Lipsyy Lost and Found. Check out both of their awesome blogs!

What I’m Reading….

I just finished…

Fairest by Marissa Meyer and Hollow City by Ransom Riggs. I will do a book talk for my YouTube channel about Fairest. Hollow City was a really fun read that picked up where Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children left off. I liked this book just as much, if not more than the first book. To me, it felt more urgent and action packed and we got to know the characters a bit more.

I’m Currently Reading…

7728889The Diviners by Libba Bray. As I said in my August TBR video, this is my re-read for the month of August. It is also the book of the month for my book club, Literary Enthusiasts. Anyway, Lair of Dreams comes out this fall, so I have to refresh myself!

What I’m Reading Next…

17167166Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas!

What I’m Writing…

My goal for today was to have through Chapter 14 revised and sent to my critique partners. With the busy weekend I had last weekend, that sadly did not happen. My goal for today however, is to type up Chapter 13 and send it to them. This chapter needed a lot more work than I realized. I’ve been going through TGGC this time and writing in Deep POV– using inner dialogue, the 5 senses to describe things, and trying to eliminate head-hopping in my writing. It’s a lot of work, but I hope that it’s paying off overall.

Other awesome things…

If you haven’t already, please check out my YouTube Channel. There are two videos on there at the moment and I am going to record a couple more today to post throughout the rest of the week.

I just got a sample book of Library of Souls from Barnes and Noble last night. I think it’s the first couple of chapters— I can’t wait to read it.
Usually if the quality of a series goes downhill, I will still read it if I find it enjoyable. If it’s so bad that I can’t enjoy it, I usually call it quits.

I really need to get around to Hollow City – I bought it as soon as I finished Miss Peregrine’s and then it’s just sat on my shelf (story of my life)

And I love The Diviners – I should probably re-read it too before Lair of Dreams 🙂 And I think Crown of Midnight is still my fave of the series so far – enjoy!

I really want to read Fairest and Hollow City soon! Hopefully I will be able to read them within the next month or so; they sound like great reads. I’m really looking forward to Lair Of Dreams… And Crown Of Midnight was even better than Throne Of Glass.

Happy Wednesday! Here is my WWW.
