What I’m Reading & Writing Wednesday

whatimreadingandwritingwednesdayHello and happy Wednesday! What I’m Reading & Writing Wednesday is my own spin on WWW Wednesday, hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. Another great feature is My Week in Books at Lipsyy Lost & Found.

I just finished…

shadow-and-bone_hi-res-677x1024Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. This is my re-read for the month of September and I want to finish the whole trilogy by the end of next month!

What I’m Reading…

I’m still reading You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) by the lovely Felicia Day. I hope to finish this book really soon because I’m enjoying it, the past couple of weeks have just been a total whirlwind for me. I’m also reading Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo, the second book in the Grisha trilogy. With another book coming out soon that takes place in this same world, I thought it was a perfect time to catch up and read this whole series.

Hopefully I will be able to finish both books this week because….

What I’m Reading Next..

18006496I broke down and bought Queen of Shadows. It came in the mail last week and has been staring at me ever since. I have it sitting on my coffee table all pretty-like and guh, I just want to read it now.

I Did Not Finish…

ettiquite and espionageEtiquette and Espionage by Gail Carriger. I just couldn’t get into it.

What I’m Writing…

Since I’ve done very little reading in the past couple of weeks, you can also imagine that I’ve done very little writing as well. However, yesterday I was able to finish up a chapter that was about 3k words. So I’m going to put that toward my goal of 10k for the month of September– woohoo…

SeptNoWriMo Goal: 10,000

Current Word Count:  2,993

Words Left to Write:  7007

Is it bad that I had to use a calculator to do that bit of really simple math? There’s a reason I’m not a math teacher, folks!

Anyway, Chapter 17 is finished and on to Chapter 18.

Felicia’s book is funny and relatable. Shadow and Bone is a good story with some intriguing characters. The main character Alina gets more interesting in the second book, even though sometimes I want to really smack her.

The Grisha series is pretty good. It’s got some interesting characters! Felicia Day’s book is great so far (although I’m almost done with it now, so it’s pretty much just great 🙂 )

Woohoo an exciting last quarter. I hope the whole book is exciting. I struggled with the very beginning of Heir of Fire because it felt so slow.

Good luck with your writing! I need to do a re-read of a manuscript before I buckle in and do the third draft. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

It really was a bummer. I set it down for a couple of days to see if it was just my mood or something, but I just couldn’t get into it.
