Confession: I did absolutely no writing yesterday.
But I didn’t work on my WIP at all.
Actually by the end of the day yesterday I was still wondering what it was that I really wanted to work on for Camp NaNoWriMo. I had three choices.
- Revisions of my steampunk fantasy novel that I wrote for NaNoWriMo 2014 and am still very excited about.
- The sequel to The Girl in the Glass Coffin– which I have so many ideas for. So many people have mentioned not writing a sequel until I get an agent , but it’s hard for me to not want to write this one since my mind is still going in circles over where book 1 leaves off.
- Something entirely new and different that is barely fleshed out in my mind.
So. many. choices. My Inner Hermione was all in a tizzy.
So today I started Camp NaNoWriMo- Day 2 with a fresh slate. Making up one day’s worth of word count is better than 2 or 3 or more. I woke up earlier than I wanted to and then went for a walk. Walks help to clear my head and often, I come up with ideas that get me out of writer’s block when I’m walking.
And the winner of this April’s Camp NaNoWriMo session is…..
The sequel to The Girl in the Glass Coffin.
Why? Because I can’t get the damn thing out of my head!
So with just about a thousand words written so far, I hope to get a good head start on writing this month and double that today!
Hope all is well. If you’re participating in Camp NaNoWriMo this month, let me know how things are going so far!
