What I’m Reading…

So, this section is becoming more and more chaotic by the day, but I’m reading quite a bit right now. Some of it is for school (things that my students are or will be reading), and some of it is for my own personal reading. So until the end of the school year, I’m going to break it down and let you know what titles I’m reading in both areas of my life!

For School…

Everything. I’m reading everything. Or that’s what it feels like anyway!

Yes. 5 books. Luckily, my high school students are almost finished with Monster by Walter Dean Meyers and the middle schoolers with Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen. Because my students are enjoying Spirit Bear so much, and some of them are interested in the sequel, I picked it up and am reading it before putting in my classroom library.

I’m also reading The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian because the high schoolers are reading this next and I’m planning what they will be learning. And the same goes for Number the Stars with my middle school group.

All of these are re-reads for me (except for Ghost of Spirit Bear) and it’s been so long since I’ve read Number the Stars that it’s almost like a brand new story to me.

Personal Reading:

Paper Hearts Vol 2: Some Publishing Advice by Beth Revis because I loved the first book in this series on writing and it doesn’t hurt to learn a little more about publishing.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling is another re-read for me. I read so much in the month of March and am reading so much for school that I’m beginning to feel burnt out. This is a book that I can pick up whenever and read a couple pages or a chapter to relax.

What I’m Writing…

Can I put everything here too? Just kidding.

I’m working on the sequel to The Girl in the Glass Coffin for Camp NaNoWriMo! With all the craziness will I actually reach my goal? Maybe. Stay tuned to see! 🙂
