Top Ten 2016 Releases Still on my TBR

Hey friends! It’s time for my first Top Ten Tuesday of the year. Top Ten Tuesday is a bookish meme brought to us by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is Top Ten 2016 Releases Still on my TBR. I read a lot of books last year. However, there were a lot of releases that I didn’t get to. In no particular order, here are the ones I hope to read in the coming months.

10. The Sun is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon

I loved Nicola Yoon’s debut novel, Everything, Everything and just know that I will love this novel as well. Plus, take a look at that cover! That’s a work of art in and of itself!

9. Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys

I’ve never read anything by Ruta Sepetys but her books keep popping up all over booktube and bookstagram. I’ve heard great things about this novel and about Out of the Easy and Between Shades of Grey.

8. Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard

I did read the first book in this trilogy last fall, but haven’t picked up book 2 yet. It’s at the library, so I should probably get on that.

7. Beyond the Red by Ava Jae

Ava Jae’s channel on Youtube is one of my favorite channel for writers. She also edited my query letter and first chapter of The Girl in the Glass Coffin. I really want to support such an awesome person and author.

6. Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

The title of this book alone sounds fascinating and I’ve heard so many people raving about it! Definitely one I have to pick up sooner rather than later.

5. Scythe by Neal Shusterman

The premise to this novel sounds fascinating!

4. Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

Books that involve time travel are always some of the most interesting. I haven’t managed to pick this one up, but hope to soon.

3.  The Midnight Star by Marie Lu

I did read The Young Elites last year, and meant to continue with the trilogy but was unable to. This is a trilogy that I hope to finish reading in 2017.

2. A Shadow Bright and Burning by Jessica Cluess

This book was highly recommended to me by the librarian where I work. However, it’s been checked out every time I’ve gone to borrow it. Maybe sometime soon I can get it to read before someone else does.

1. Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton

This has been on my list since before it came out. For some reason I just never got to it last year.
