Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases For The First Half of 2016

2016Releases

I was silly and missed Top Ten Tuesday this week. But since it’s New Year’s Eve I thought I would do it anyway.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme brought to us by The Broke and the Bookish! For this week’s topic I’m talking about my Top 10 Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2016 (woah that’s a mouthful!) But really— have you checked out what books are coming out in the first half of 2016 alone?!? There’s a ton of them, and so many that look fantastic.

Here’s what books I’m most looking forward to!

10. Passenger by Alexandra Bracken- To Be Released January 5, 2016

passengerNot only is this book going to be released within the first couple of days of 2016, it’s one of my most anticipated of the year. I’m not sure how I’ve never read anything by Alexandra Bracken, but this book involves time travel, so I’m sure I’ll love it and read all of her other books this year.

9. Truthwitch by Susan Dennard- to be released January 5, 2016

truthwitchI’ve read the first couple of chapters of this book and have been so impatient waiting for it! This is definitely one I will be reading soon!

8. This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab- To be released June 7, 2016

savagesongI read her novel (written as V.E. Schwab) A Darker Shade of Magic in 2015 and loved her writing style. The concept of this novel looks thrilling and I’m really impatient about getting my hands on this one.

7. Bookishly Ever After by Isabel Bandeira- to be released January 12, 2016

bookishlyThis book is about a girl who loves YA books so much that she looks to them for all sorts of advice about her life. I’m so excited for this cute contemporary read this year.

6. Tell the Wind and Fire by Sarah Rees Brennan- to be released April 5, 2016

tellthewindandfireI’ve never read anything by Sarah Rees Brennan, but I’ve heard loads of good things and the concept behind this book has me so excited– magic, secrets, and doppelgangers. Count me in please!

So let’s chat about what I’m reading this week…

I just finished.

theassassinsbladeThe Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas. I ended up really enjoying this book, especially the novellas that were a bit longer than the first two. I liked that each story led into the next one. It was awesome to see Sam Cortland (finally) even though I knew what happened to him. Continue reading

Let’s get to it!

What I’m Reading this Week…

I just finished…

The Diviners by Libba Bray. I first read this book way back when I started this blog, already being a fan of Bray’s Gemma Doyle trilogy. See that review here. I must say that I love The Diviners even more the second time around. The characters were so layered and had quirks, flaws, and dark secrets. As some people in my book club have mentioned, I was kind of disappointed in the lack of wrap-up on some of the character’s stories. However I am so excited for the sequel to come out next month and will probably be reading it this fall. Continue reading

What I’m Reading….

I just finished…

Fairest by Marissa Meyer and Hollow City by Ransom Riggs. I will do a book talk for my YouTube channel about Fairest. Hollow City was a really fun read that picked up where Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children left off. I liked this book just as much, if not more than the first book. To me, it felt more urgent and action packed and we got to know the characters a bit more. Continue reading

Miss-PeregrinesMiss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs (finally). I liked this book a lot, but it took forever for me to finish. I’m going to chalk that up to the fact that it was a re-read for me. I usually don’t trudge through re-reads though. Continue reading

throne-of-glass-coverI’ve been meaning to read Throne of Glass for a while now, and with the next book coming out soon, I figured that I should get on it. This book has been sitting on my shelves for a few months now and with the issues I’ve been having with my current read, I needed to set that aside and step into Caleana Sardothien’s world.
