Hello! Welcome to What I’m Reading and Writing Wednesday, my weekly feature that catches you all up on what’s going on in my world. Two other similar features are WWW Wednesday, hosted by Taking on a World of Words and This Week in Books hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found. Drop by their blogs and check them out :).

So let’s get to it!!!

What I’m Reading…

Not nearly as much as I did last week, that’s for sure.

I just finished….

a-court-of-thorns-and-roses

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. What can I say in this short blurb other than I loved this book! It’s probably going to be the first book that I post an actual review for this year. So. Good. It makes me want to read more from this author. Continue reading

What I'm Reading & Writing Wednesday

Hey everyone! It’s Wednesday again and I have a lot to share with you, especially because I completely forgot about this feature last week (yeahhh sometimes I forget what day of the week it is). Anyway What I’m Reading and Writing Wednesday is my own spin on WWW Wednesday, hosted by Taking on a World of Words and This Week in Books hosted by Lipsyy Lost and Found.

What I’m reading this week…

A lot.

I just finished reading…

  • A Darkness Strange and Lovely by Susan Dennard. I loved this book and thought that it was a really fun sequel to Something Strange and Deadly and can’t wait  to pick up the 3rd book.
  • I finally finished A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab and it’s definitely one of the best books I’ve read so far this year! Not sure why it took me so long to finish (although it got buried in my craft room for a couple of weeks).
  • Under the Lights by Dahlia Adler. I really enjoyed this book, even though it took me a little time to get into. I’m not a huge reader of contemporary, but I am glad that I pushed through it. Diversity in YA and NA is incredibly important and Dahlia Adler definitely showed that message as it relates to diversity in other forms of entertainment.

What I'm Reading & Writing Wednesday

whatimreadingandwritingwednesdayHey everyone! What I’m Reading and Writing Wednesday is my weekly (or trying to make it weekly) feature where I catch all of you up on what’s going on in my world.

What I’m Reading…

I just finished readsomething strange & deadlying:

Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard. It was such a fun and exciting book that I read it in a couple of days and was really absorbed in the story. It was an interesting and exciting premise with a compelling setting and memorable characters. Unfortunately, my library doesn’t have either of the sequels and I don’t  know if I can get them via inter-library loan, so I might have to splurge a little next payday.

Setting Manageable Writing Goals

setting manageable writing goalsThis week I am starting another month of writing insanity, Camp NaNoWriMo. While my goal is only 10k words for the entire month, I know I won’t get anywhere without setting smaller goals for myself. I want to make that seemingly impossible task of writing that much while I’m trying to get ready for a craft show, running a creative writing group, and practicing for roller derby twice a week— that much more manageable.

You can set all the Writing goals you want, but if they aren’t manageable, you won’t reach them.

What I'm Reading & Writing Wednesday

And it’s time for What I’m Reading & Writing Wednesday so I can catch all of you up on what I’ve been up to lately. This feature is my spin on WWW Wednesday, originally started by Miz B at Should Be Reading and now hosted by Taking on a World of Words.tumblr_lsio63zudZ1qbl11oo1_500Basically my life is being eaten by adult things, no matter how much I want to do other things. Ick.
